Willowbank Raceway - General News: WILLOWBANK RACEWAY TRANSFORMS TO BLUE OVAL MECCA THIS SUNDAY

WILLOWBANK RACEWAY TRANSFORMS TO BLUE OVAL MECCA THIS SUNDAY

14 July 2015

Willowbank Raceway will transform into a holy grail for Ford enthusiasts this Sunday (19 July) for the 33rd running of the All Ford Day – set to host more than 1000 Blue Ovals from historic through to new 2016 models for thousands of motoring enthusiasts.

Calling Queensland’s premier drag racing facility home since 2014, the All Ford Day features car displays and on-track drag racing, as well as free kids rides, trade stalls, a swap meet and other entertainment.

Falcon GT Club of Queensland President Bob Taylor said the All Ford Day has something for all fans of the Ford marque.

“Ford fans can come and spend the day admiring everything from classic early Fords through to modern FPVs – we even have a gentlemen coming all the way from South Australia to debut his 2016 Mustang which he has brought over from the United States and hasn’t even been released in this country as yet and last year we had a 100 year old car that had had only one owner its entire life,” said Bob Taylor, who thanked event sponsors Bremer Ford Ipswich, Signature Refinishing Supplies, Bowden’s Own Products, Ipswich City Council and Willowbank Raceway for their support.

“The All Ford Day is really important for our club, allowing like-minded people to come out and enjoy our passion both in the grounds of the Raceway and on the track, and for the owners of these magnificent machines to share their pride and joys with enthusiasts.

“Since moving to the Raceway the day has really expanded with so much more room to move and the on-track element has really taken things to another level – between that and all the other elements on offer including the trade stands, swap meets and entertainment, it really is a great day out for all the family, we hope to see everyone young and old coming along this Sunday and enjoying the event!”

Gates for the All Ford Day open at 6.00am for Swap Meet participants and 7.30am for the public. Spectator entry is only $5.00 and children aged 13 and under gain FREE admission – guaranteeing not only an action packed day, but an affordable one for all the family. Swap Meet participation is just $10.00 (plus $5 admission per person), while participation in the Show and Shine is just $5 per car (plus $5 admission per person).

Those looking to run their beloved machines down the quarter-mile can do so by participating in the Show and Shine and paying an additional $20.00 at the Staging Lanes.
